Woman arrested for presumed animal abuse and injuries in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo

A 28-year old resident of Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (Córdoba) has been arrested on the presumption of injuring an animal and animal abuse.

According to the Guardia Civil, the arrest occurred after a patrol located near the Sierra Boyera dam the body of a dog which could not be identified due to the lack of microchip. While investigating to identify the owner, they learned that a resident of the town had been attended after suffering wounds from a dog bite.

After deliberations, they concluded that the dog they found was the same that had bit the town resident, and that the owner “had tried to erase any indicator that could relate the dog and its owner”.

The findings have been passed to the Court of the Guard to begin the appropriate procedures.
