Six workers from a meat fodder Factory charged with presumably using sick animals

On the week starting 2 June several executives and workers of a company transforming meat subproducts in Osuna (Sevilla) were charged with the presumed use of sick or inappropriate animals for human consumption to obtain meals and fats which would later be destined in the fabrication of fodder for animals which would enter the human food chain.

The hearing of the events is taking place in District Court Number 1 of Osuna.

It should be noted that the owner of the company had already been sentenced in 2001 before the Provincial Audience of Barcelona to four years imprisonment for environmental crimes; after reaching the Supreme Court in 2003, the sentence was lowered to two years in prison and a two year disqualification from exercising industrial activities in the meat transformation sector.
