The closing lecture and ceremony of the second edition of the Master in Animal Law and Society will take place on Thursday, June 6, in Aula 3 [Room 3] and Friday, June 7, in the Aula Magna [Great Hall] of Faculty of Law of the UAB. To celebrate the occasion, Professor Steven M. Wise will give a series of conferences titled:
LEGAL PERSONHOOD AND THE NONHUMAN RIGHTS PROJECT
The author of important works in the subject: Rattling the Cage (2000) Drawing the line (2002) y An American Trilogy (2009) Professor Wise has taught classes of Animal Law in renowned faculties in the United States, such as Harvard Law School, John Marshall Law School, Lewis & Clark Law School and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. He previously presided over the Animal Legal Defense Fund and is the founder and the current president of the Center for the Expansion of Fundamental Rights. The Yale Law Journal has recognized him as 'one of the pistons of the animal rights movement'.
