Challenges

Among the challenges that we assume to occur, are the following summarized:

  1. From the law point of view, one could expect the application of animal sentient, an improvement of legislation both Constitutional and civil as well as administrative and penal very significant.

  2. From the social point of view, more informed and objective citizen awareness. This demands aid, which characterize a society that has integrated animals as beings worthy of respect, within daily life: transport, accommodation, vaccination, identification, consumption (information, labelling, responsibility), Education at all levels, responsible tourism, human-animal relationship from the perspective of responsible tenure and the promotion of stable links, the manipulation of animals, the definition of the physical and behavioral wellbeing and needs of animals, the conditions and limits of the study of Animals and Tests that can be carried out, the obligation to alleviate pain, stress, fear and disease of the animals, to establish serious penalties for abuse cases and animal abuse and the violence against them and against the most vulnerable parts of society, especially children.

  3. From the public agenda point of view, the implementation of policies aimed at protecting the interest of the animal not to be abused-what is now a postulate recognized by the science of animal welfare, with the same level of interest that a property owner has to protect their right.

We face these essential objectives from the three aspects inherent to the university activity:

  • quality research (as SGR recognized)

  • teaching through the Masters in Animal Law and society (live and online)

  • the Transfer of results to the scientific community and society
