The Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to France is pleased to invite you on Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. to the online debate "Which rights for animals? Current debates and future perspectives".
We will discuss the main topics of interest on the animal cause: its new legal status that leaves behind the Napoleonic vision coming from the Roman law concerning animals as things or property goods, their rights, challenges, the role of animals in culture, all this through the legislative advances and current debates both in France and in Catalonia.
We will be joined by the French Deputy Loïc DOMBREVAL, author of the draft law against animal abuse and president of the study group on the animal condition of the French National Assembly, Teresa GIMÉNEZ-CANDELA, Professor and Director of the Master in Animal Law and Society at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as Louis SCHWEITZER, President of the National Foundation of Political Science and the Animal Law, Ethics and Science Foundation. The debate will be moderated by Hélène GATEAU, veterinarian and radio and television presenter.
