8th International Congress: Pet Animals, A Source of Health

On September 30 and October 1, the 8th International Congress: “Pet Animals, A Source of Health”, organized by the Fundación Affinity (Affinity Foundation), will be held.

The conference consists of a wide selection of well-known specialists in Animal Assisted Therapies, one of the fields of research and work with animals that has experienced great development in recent years within Spain. TEAAC is currently being applied to improve the physical condition of groups of needy populations (such as geriatric, infants, and the disabled) using the human-animal connection. It has also been used for penitentiary rehabilitation. For these groups, the Program is structured in four highly interesting round tables.

In the table titled: Vinculo Hombre Animal (Human Animal Connection), Professor Lluis Ferrer i Caubet, Catedrático de Medicina y Cirugía Animal de la UAB (Department Chair of Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) and member of Advisory Council of the web Center dA and Magda Oranich, attorney and President of the Comisión por los Derechos de los Animales del Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona (Commission for Animal Rights of the Illustrious College of Attorneys of Barcelona) will participate as the President and Moderator of the session. At the same table, Professor Lluis Ferrer and Teresa Giménez-Candela, , Catedrática de derecho y Animal Professor en la Facultad de Derecho de la UAB (Department Chair of Law and Animals in the Law Faculty of the UAB) will present a joint paper entitled “Animal Legislation”.
