The Provincial Audience absolves a man sentenced for illegal hunting in a private reserve

The Provincial Audience of Murcia has overturned the sentence by the Criminal Court of Lorca which condemned a hunter who was surprised on a private reserve without a license, with four dugs running free, without microchips or health cards. The man was sentenced at the time for illegal hunting to four months of fines, of four Euros daily, as well as a special disqualification from hunting for two years.

The appellant alleged that he had gone to the reserve to spend time with his daughter who accompanied him, and to give his dogs exercise. In the final sentence, the court indicated that the actions "do not allow for one to reasonably infer, with a minimum level of certainty, that the man was found hunting, as such his alibi is perfectly compatible with the investigation evidence presented in the court".
