Professor Dr. Jean Pierre MARGUENAUD in the Master in Animal Law and Society of the UAB: Analysis of the legal configuration of animals in France
On Thursday and Friday 6-7 March, starting at 3:30 p.m. in Aula 1 of the Faculty of Law of the UAB, the class entitled ¨Analysis of the legal configuration of animals in France¨ will be taught by Professor Jean Pierre Marguenaud in the Master of Animal Law and Society. Professor Marguenaud will analyze the protection that animals have in French law, thanks to the consideration of animals as sentient beings. As such, the consequences that this consideration has, or could have, in the legal status of animals in France will be studied.
Marguenaud is a renowned Professor of Private Law, Criminal Sciences and Animal Law in the Université de Limoges. The author of numerous works, he is the Founder of the first journal of Animal Law in Europe: Revue semestrielle de droit animalier. In addition to being a Professor in the Master, Marguenaud has collaborated with the Research Group ADS (Animals Law and Society) directing Masters Theses and has contributed to the group´s website: www.derechoanimal.info with the publication L’Animal en droit français, in April 2013.
