It is a Colloquium organized by the IDEDH (Institut de Droit Européen et des Droits de l'Homme) of the University of Montpellier (https://idedh.edu.umontpellier.fr/), lead by Professor Claire Vial on the very important topic of "The Rights of Human Beings and the Rights of Other Entities. A new frontier", 16 and 17 May 2019.
Organized around an important thematic axis, the Colloquium starts from the consideration of the evolution of the rights guaranteed to the human being (first part), then to examine the attribution of rights to other entities (second part) and finally to explore the challenges arising by the legal relations between human beings and other entities (third part).
Specialists from various universities and research Centers, mainly from France, are invited to the Colloquium, with the special collaboration of Prof. Jean Pierre Marguenaud (Université de Limoges), who will be in charge of the Closure of the Colloquium and its conclusions.
ICALP (UAB) will be represented by Prof. Dr. Marita Giménez-Candela, who will take part in the section devoted to the new forms of relationship between humans and other entities, in which she will refer to a question of great novelty: animals as persons within the legal system.
